Born in Queens, NY, to the late William B. Gibson Sr. and Catherine (nee Curcio), Bill grew up in Brooklyn, NY near the Brooklyn Navy Yard. He later moved to New Jersey, where he raised his family, most recently residing in Princeton and Cranbury.

Bill worked for Sudler & Hennessey Inc., beginning in 1970. He was named president in 1982 and chairman and chief executive officer in 1984. He retired as C.E.O. in 1996 after 26 years of dedicated work.

A devoted Christian for many years Bill had a special place in his heart for Star of Hope supporting and advocating for the ministry for many years.   

While not on the Board of Trustees for Star of Hope he served as “mentor” for the leadership during the ministry expansion in the 90’s. Bill also sat on the board of directors for Young & Rubicam Inc.

Bill adored his beloved wife of 52 years, Patricia Gibson. He was happiest while at home spending time with his family.

He was a wonderful provider, devoted father, and loving grandfather. He enjoyed listening to and playing music and traveling, and he had an incredible sense of humor.

Bill was a dedicated church attendee, with a deep and abiding faith. He will be greatly missed by all of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
