Star of Hope offers jobs and life-skills training for the members of churches and organizations in the SOHM Member Network through the FOUR STAR INITIATIVE. Individuals in need of training also come to Star of Hope from local high schools, the court system, and the community-at-large. The opportunities provided through this initiative are designed so that trainees actively participate in their personal and professional development. Star of Hope believes that all people regardless of their economic or social condition are in need of three things to grow, develop and enjoy a healthy life as GOD intended: 1. a calling (a purpose or reason for living) 2. a community (a local church for support) and 3. a craft (a skill or a way to make a living). As local churches and SOHM’s STAR TEC Institute work together, it is hoped STAR TERNS will come to know or grow in CHRIST, find fulfillment and purpose in HIM and find the support that is needed in community to work towards self-sufficiency through the development of job and life skills. Not all of those taking classes at Star of Hope are currently part of a local church or community, but as much as possible, we direct students to churches in the Star of Hope Network.
