Dear Star of Hope Family Members, The church has always been God’s plan for responding to the brokenness of an imperfect world. Whether the crisis is spiritual or physical, whether it is emotional or economic, the local community of believers are THE people that stand together, stand up, and stand out, in the power of Jesus Christ. As we have so many times in our collective history, we once again have been given the privilege of modeling the truth of what we preach and believe to a watching world. For more than 100 years Star of Hope Ministries has been building relationships with church and organization leaders to be able to respond to the needs of the unserved and underserved, especially in times of crisis. On behalf of the network of pastors and leaders that we are blessed to serve and with whom we coordinate efforts, Star of Hope is inviting, asking, and urging our supporting brothers and sisters to sacrifice their own resources in order to make the biggest impact possible during this Pandemic. We are watching as many of those who do not know the Lord are responding to this Pandemic with fear and uncertainty, focusing on self-preservation. Now, more than ever, is when Christ’s followers become the example and show the love of a God who so loved the world. Now, more than ever, we persevere in the faith and confidence of a Savior who rescues and provides in all circumstances. At the moment, we are in need of your financial support as we undertake a major effort to:
- Increase our food distribution capacity, including both non-perishable and fresh produce/perishable items
- Workwith city leaders to oversee a city-wide food distribution effort for those who are being affected
- Coordinate with our Paterson, Newark, and Willingboro pastors and leaders to discern the specific needs of the community and to connect them with resources.
- Organize a city-wide daily prayer conference call for churches, not-for-profits, and individuals in Greater Paterson and beyond
